The Working River Project was launched in 2015 with the goal of telling the economic story of the living, working Fraser River through the FRDC’s sustainability lens.
It will be a $2.25 million world-class educational exhibit that personalizes the Fraser for everyone. Through interactive technology – and dialogue on key topics – visitors will discover how the Lower Fraser appears in their daily lives through a complex web of social, environmental and economic considerations.
FRDC has been able to secure 11 leading government and business partners to help develop the project. Phase 1 involved the development of the Preliminary Design and Concept Plan. A Final Design and Concept Plan will be completed by fall of 2016. The goal is to formally launch the Working River Project Exhibit in September 2017.
